NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION
National Board Certification is a highly research-based professional learning opportunity that results in an advanced teaching credential offered by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. This certification is a voluntary certification that consists of a two-part portfolio and assessment center process. The National Board Certification is for teachers with three or more years’ experience. WHAT IS THE Take One! PROGRAM?
Take One!® is a unique offering from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards®. Teachers prepare and submit one pre-selected video portfolio entry from any of the current 25 certificate areas of National Board Certification. A teacher can later transfer the score if he or she pursues National Board candidacy .

ANNOUNCING $25,000 NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2011-2012 CANDIDATE FEE “SUBSIDIES:
Vermont-NEA announces the availability of $1250 assessment fee scholarships to support Vermont teachers wishing to become a candidate for National Board Certification. These funds are made available through a federal subsidy from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Candidates are charged a $2500 fee to undertake the certification process.
